death of ebay/craigslist?

Ebay built its reputation on being the marketplace to the world, craigslist was its garage sale so to speak. But the secret sauce isn't the transaction if that's all your looking for you go to amazon. Craigslist and ebays secret is the thrill of the hunt. People thinking they were getting a bargain.
But with the cost of information so cheap and such readily available markets to set prices, these guys are essentially exhausting their competitive advantage.

When is the last time you "scored" something on either of these sites? All I see is high shipping prices, near retail prices on ebay and re-posted and re-priced items on craigslist.

To borrow a name from my baseball collecting youth....are these guys nothing more than modernn day Becketts magazines?
